Game Mechanics

  • PF2 - Abilities that granted situational bonuses to Recall Knowledge, such as the investigator's Keen Recollection ability, were not granting those bonuses to Lore skills.
  • PF2 - Equipped items will now report an error if too many hands are holding equipment.
  • PF2 - Modifiers which applied to all of a character's damage rolls were being applied to healing spells.
  • PF2 - Common ammunition from the CRB were being listed as options in the Ammunition Formulas table. Like other common gear from the Equipment chapter, these formulas are available in a basic crafter's book, so they have been removed to reduce unnecessary clutter. Common ammunition from other sources will still be listed.
  • PF2 - Formulas for the common gear from the APG were not appearing as options in the Formulas tables. These are not covered by the basic crafter's book, as they are not from the CRB.
  • PF2 - Due to NPCs determining their attack and AC bonuses from a level and tier-based table instead of calculating them based on training and ability scores, the clumsy and enfeebled conditions were not applying their penalties to those stats. Attacks will now determine what ability score would be used, such as with a finesse weapon, and apply the appropriate penalties. If a penalty would reach a point where an allowed alternate ability score would become preferable, such as if a PC would switch to using Str with a finesse weapon if they had a high clumsy value, NPCs will not apply a greater penalty than would result from switching ability scores used. So if a creature had +3 Dex and clumsy 2, and a +2 Str, they would only take a -1 penalty to finesse attacks since using Str would become preferable.

Bug Fixes

  • PF2 - The alchemist's Toxicologist research field was not improving the DCs of infused poisons.
  • PF2 - The champion's Aura of Courage was listing the aura's range as 10' in its effects summary, but it should be 15'
  • PF2 - The cleric's Command Undead feat was using class DC instead of spell DC.
  • PF2 - The cleric's Deadly Simplicity feat and the monk's Powerful Fists ability were stacking effects that increased damage die size, resulting in d8 fist damage.
  • PF2 - The cleric's Deadly Simplicity feat's prerequisite was not detecting whether a character was trained in unarmed attacks if added through a cleric archetype feat, for a cleric whose deity's favored weapon is an unarmed attack.
  • PF2 - The druid's Order Explorer feat was replacing the normal order's skill with that of the selected order.
  • PF2 - Druid feats that grant additional benefits when wild shaped, such as Dragon Shape granting energy resistance, previously had activations to apply their effects. Rather than requiring them to be applied independently from wild shape, they will now be applied automatically if a polymorph adjustment has been applied with the "Is Wild Shaped" option checked.
  • PF2 - Fighters with the Unconventional Weapon human feat were not having that weapon's proficiency improved by Weapon Legend.
  • PF2 - Inventor weapon and armor modifications spent were not being reported correctly.
  • PF2 - The magus's Attack of Opportunity feat was still referencing a -2 to hit in its effects summary, which was a leftover from the playtest.
  • PF2 - The monk's One-Inch Punch feat was not properly increasing the damage of weapons with striking runes.
  • PF2 - The psychic's Mental Balm feat was showing in the description of some spells that could not use its amp.
  • PF2 - The thaumaturge was gaining an extra feat at 20th level.
  • PF2 - The thaumaturge's tome implement was only granting its initiate benefit when held.
  • PF2 - The thaumaturge's Grand Scroll Esoterica feat was not showing as a valid choice even when its prereqs were met.
  • PF2 - The thaumaturge's Ubiquitous Weakness feat was not showing as a valid choice even when its prereqs were met.
  • PF2 - Some multiclass archetype dedication feats weren't requiring their skills be trained.
  • PF2 - Some multiclass archetype feats that granted additional spell slots to the normal spellcasting benefits were not granting those spells.
  • PF2 - A few archetype feats were not counting towards the 2 additional feat requirement to take a new archetype.
  • PF2 - The Druid Dedication feat's description has been updated to the 3rd printing of the CRB.
  • PF2 - The Druid Dedication feat was adding the chosen order's skill as a trained selection on the character's class.
  • PF2 - The Sorcerer Dedication's signature spell selections from its spellcasting benefits feats were displaying bloodline spells as options, even though those are not automatically gained from the archetype.
  • PF2 - The Archaeologist archetype's Settlement Scholastics feat was not allowing selection of all common and uncommon languages.
  • PF2 - The Beast Gunner Dedication and Cathartic Mage Dedication feats weren't granting an additional cantrip to bounded spellcasters.
  • PF2 - The Beastmaster archetype's Mature Beastmaster Companion feat wasn't making companions mature.
  • PF2 - The Ghost Hunter Dedication feat now shows an error if it's used to make another Lore skill trained before Haunt Lore and Spirit Lore are both trained.
  • PF2 - The dwarf's Surface Lore feat can now choose "Other Lore" for its Lore skill training instead of the normal surface dwarf Lores if you have not selected an ethnicity.
  • PF2 - The Food Trader (Society) background was making the wrong skill trained.
  • PF2 - The Unsponsored background was prompting the choice of a trained skill when it shouldn't allow any.
  • PF2 - The Adopted Ancestry feat now has an option to allow non-common ancestries to be chosen. Selecting a non-common ancestry will trigger a validation message to confirm that you have GM permission (or the Ancestral Adoption I boon in PFS).
  • PF2 - Animal companions were benefiting from item bonuses to attack, such as from potency runes.
  • PF2 - Animal companions were stacking increase to their base weapon dice, such as from striking runes and being a mature companion.
  • PF2 - The Master Abilities table was not always reporting the correct number of options spent if the character had a specific familiar, such as an aeon wyrd, even though the Familiar Abilities table would be.
  • PF2 - The boost eidolon spell adjustment was not granting an increased damage bonus if the eidolon's master was wearing striking handwraps of mighty blows.
  • PF2 - The glacial heart and spirit object witch hex spells would always use the occult tradition regardless of the patron's tradition, so wouldn't properly calculate their DCs in cases where the witch's tradition wasn't occult.
  • PF2 - The grisly growths spell was not displaying the success/failure information for its second save.
  • PF2 - Some versions of the insect form spell adjustment were applying incorrect damage when set at 5th-level.
  • PF2 - The Speed penalty from armor could reduce a Speed to 0, rather than a minimum of 5 ft.
  • PF2 - Scrolls were not displaying their names with the contained spell on the Play tab.
  • PF2 - Suspended Equipment tables were always being shown on characters with lower gear counts if they had formulas as well.
  • PF2 - The pearly white spindle aeon stone's negative resistance was not being applied as a resonant power.
  • PF2 - Rings of wizardry were not granting additional spells.
  • PF2 - Rings of wizardry could select forms of spellcasting that didn't use slots.
  • PF2 - The wayfinder's granted light spell was automatically being heightened instead of remaining at 1st level.
  • PF2 - The wounding rune was not adding its persistent bleed text to a weapon's damage.
  • PF2 - Several relic gifts, such as Death Gaze, were using the character's class DC instead of the better of the class and spell DCs.
  • PF2 - The Hireling boons available as retired rewards and current boons now count as each other for prereqs and can be improved by the Expert, Professional, or Master Hireling boons from either table.
  • SF - The Shuriken Assassin operative exploit was adding extra damage before 12th level.

Patch 2022-08-04

  • PF2 - Alchemists could not select signature formulas.
  • The Vault button could sometimes end up hidden, primarily while already inside the vault
