Patches

The Nitty Gritty

Changes and Improvements

  • Streamlined invitation process
    • GMs can now directly add players via their username, bypassing several steps of the old invitation process (the previous methods of invite links and codes are both still available)
    • New members are automatically approved by default, rather than needing a separate step from the GM.
      • For groups that need additional security, a setting is available to opt out of this auto-approval.
    • The invitation interface now has a dedicated section in the new "Members" view, rather than a small button bringing up a separate window.
  • Streamlined distribution of PCs to players
    • PCs can be set as "claimable", allowing the GM (or another player) to set up PCs in advance for transfer to players.
      • Players can mark characters they create as claimable. GMs can mark any character as claimable.
      • Claimable characters appear in their own section of the PCs view, and offer an option for players to claim them.
    • PCs now offer a "Copy link to character" option. GMs can use this to quickly direct new players to their PC.
  • Improved Campaign Navigation Panel Organization
    • The left navigation panel for Campaigns has been split into 2 views: Prepare and Play. This is similar to the Build/Play split for characters.
    • The "Prepare" navigation has been grouped under several headings for visual organization: “Getting Started”, “Characters” and “Encounters”
    • The "PCs and Players" view has been split into 2 separate views: "Members & Roles" and "PCs".
    • "Content Sharing" is now it's own dedicated view, focusing on managing patronage slots.
    • The "Character Options" window has been split into 3 dedicated views: Character Options, Shared Options, and Rules Sources
    • "Settings" is now a dedicated view focused on campaign settings not covered in the other sections
    • The Player-safe Stage has been promoted to the nav panel for discoverability
    • NPC and Encounter folders now appear directly beneath the nav item they relate to rather than after all the other nav elements.
    • Several terms have been changed for simplification and clarity, adopting terms most TTRPG gamers are already familiar with: Cast -> NPC, Script -> Encounter
  • Dice Roll History is more visible and accessible
    • There's now a dedicated dice roll history view for the main panel (the side panel version is still available).
    • A button on this view allows you to pop out a standalone browser window showing just a player-safe version of the dice roll history, perfect for screen sharing or streaming setups.
  • Simplified some of the campaign interface via Advanced Options
    • Several more advanced options that appeared in multiple places in the interface have been hidden to reduce interface clutter. They can be opted back into on the Campaign Settings view. This is an ongoing effort and other features may get a similar treatment in the future.
    • Session restore point is now an advanced option
    • Separate stage tabs is now an advanced option
  • Numerous quality-of-life improvements
    • A new green indicator shows that a game session is active in the nav panel and app header. This should improve clarity as several operations are unavailable or work differently when a game is in session.
      • Clicking the indicator offers a menu with an option to end the current game session
    • A new campaign setting is available to auto retire encounters after they have been run.
    • When linking an NPC to an Encounter, the selection list now allows multiple selections.
    • When returning to NPC or Encounter folders, the last folder you visited is now remembered and restored.
    • Temporarily disabling the "Options Mismatch" feature. It has several issues and generally causes annoyance, so it is being hidden for now until it can be made more useful and less cumbersome.

Patch on 2024-01-25

  • Campaigns - The following settings were missing from the Campaign Settings screen: “Auto-retire Encounters by Default”, “Session restore point”, “Show separate stage tabs”
  • Campaigns - Fixed monster immunities being missing when the GM opened a character in the side panel
  • Campaigns - Encounters - Fixed unchecking the "Retired" checkbox not actually un-retiring the encounter.
  • Campaigns - Adjusted the grouping of characters on the stage. Off Camera/Out of Action characters will now always appear beneath On Camera characters, regardless of their current state (e.g. Waiting, Acted, etc). This applies both on the default stage view, as well as the "All" tab when the Stage Tabs setting is active.
  • PF2 - The Expert Combat Eidolon summoner archetype feat wasn't increasing the eidolon's proficiency in unarmored defense.

  • PF2 - The snagging hook snare was missing part of its damage.
